The beta is free.
- Free.
- About 15 writers.
- Two to three weeks.
- Bring a real project.
We are looking for writers with a real story who will tell us what is wrong. Every piece of honest feedback shapes what ships. Beta writers are the foundation this is built on, and we do not forget foundations: when Core launches, the people who tested it will hear from us first, and not with a full-price invoice.
The process
How it goes.
- Apply. The form takes a few minutes: who you are, what you are writing, what you write in today.
- We read. Every application, ourselves. About 15 writers are chosen for the first cohort.
- You get a build. A Windows installer and a short note on what to try first.
- You write. Part or all of a real project, in NovlHeim, for two to three weeks.
- We talk. One short conversation after the test, about what delighted you and what did not.
Built for worlds that have outgrown ordinary writing software.
A premium, local-first writing and worldbuilding environment for novelists creating ambitious stories and the worlds behind them.
The first NovlHeim beta is intended primarily for writers working on:
- Fantasy
- Science Fiction
- Romantasy
Especially novels, series and shared worlds where the manuscript is only one part of keeping the story straight.
You do not need to be published.
You do need to be actively creating something real.
What to bring
Bring a real story.
This is not a demo programme.
We are looking for a small group of writers willing to bring part—or all—of a genuine project into NovlHeim and use it for approximately two to three weeks.
You may be asked to:
- Import an existing manuscript.
- Bring in notes or recreate parts of your world.
- Draft or revise real prose.
- Use planning and worldbuilding tools as part of your normal workflow.
- Tell us what delights you, what frustrates you, and what makes you hesitate to trust the software.
The best feedback is not polite feedback.
It is useful feedback.
The fit
Who we're looking for
You may be a strong fit if you:
- are actively writing or revising a novel or series;
- work on Windows;
- use tools such as Scrivener, Word, Google Docs, Campfire, World Anvil, Novelcrafter, Plottr—or an assortment of several;
- have enough characters, lore, planning or story complexity that your current setup feels fragmented;
- are willing to use NovlHeim several times during a two-to-three-week test;
- are comfortable using a real project;
- are willing to tell us where the product fails as readily as where it succeeds;
- can join one short follow-up conversation after the test.
We are deliberately keeping the first cohort small.
Approximately 15 writers will be selected.
Why join
Help shape what NovlHeim becomes.
The purpose of this beta is not to accumulate sign-ups.
It is to learn from writers who care deeply about their stories.
If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
When Core launches, this is what it will cost.
